If you don’t already know us we would like to tell you a little bit about North Shore Dog Walkers and how our people and our service have earned us the reputation of North and West Vancouver’s BEST dog walkers.
Amber’s Story
7 years ago I left a prestigious budding career as a Stockbroker/ Financial Advisor in search of true happiness and I found it on the North Shore Trails with my dog. Soon I was walking groups of dogs and I realized I had found my calling. My passion organically blossomed into "North Shore Dog Walkers". For my amazing staff and I, this is a lifestyle that gives all of us an immense amount of joy and fulfillment. My clients trust me with their most beloved and many have become close friends. That means the world to me!
And while Amber drags her good natured husband and super cute toddler South on a sailing adventure this winter (see www.svrockstar.com) you will be very well taken care of by Miss Alysha Morris, Manager, Dog Walking Expert, Doggy Social Schedule Coordinator and General Boss of Everything Else.
Alysha went to SFU to become an elementary teacher but after falling in love with her two dogs while teaching in Korea, she came back with a desire to get out of the classroom and onto the gorgeous North Shore trails. She is passionate about working with dogs and this is truly her dream job. She cannot imagine doing anything else! On the rare day that Alysha isn’t on the trails she may be found raising money for a variety charities, riding her motorcycles and getting settled in her house in New Westminster.
Jae is truly amazing with every aspect of this job. He loves the details involved in taking care of our clients most precious pups, the dogs LOVE him, and even at 7:00am in the morning, he is always cheerful and excited to get out on the trails.
Teresa (pictured here with her daughter Sloane) is a cheerful Mom of 3 who lives here on the North Shore. She is truly an animal lover and is SO amazing with all of our dogs. (She can never get enough doggy time, and even volunteers at the local SPCA!) Teresa is our part-timer and number one pet sitter, so when your pup has a sleepover, he will be in great hands.
Chris grew up in Saskatchewan & made a very big career change from the world of curling to join us. He wanted a change of pace and a job that makes him truly happy. Chris loves all animals, especially dogs, so this was his opportunity to jump right in and spend as much time was possible with them. When he's not on the trails Chris is playing guitar or sports (especially Curling and Baseball).
Elliott is our local North Shore boy who graduated from Windsor Secondary School. He has grown up with dogs his whole life & also loves to snowboard and play many other sports. The fact that he gets to hike everyday with dogs makes this his dream job! (And might we add that he is in amazing shape and runs his dog groups on 8km+ hikes!)
Originally from South Africa, Claire did her pre-veterinarian degree at UVic & after 3 years of Biology, realized that she was more suited to behaviorism than medicine and graduated with a BSc. in Psychology. She spent most of her free time volunteering at an animal hospital, the Beacon Hill Petting Zoo and the SPCA. To say she is a dog lover would be an understatement. She loves all animals and dreams to one day have a rescue farm for dogs, cats, horses or any animal in need of a safe home!
Our staff training is pretty insane and the only one of its kind. It’s 8-12 weeks of trail safety, dog behavior & obedience, pack leadership skills, leash handling, off leash control and client care. As a team we are constantly growing and developing our knowledge and abilities both in and out of the classroom. Our clients rely on us for our experience and expertise.
Our walkers truly are the best in the business and have a reputation for being super friendly, down to earth amazing dog lovers. As you can see, they LOVE their job!
